It seems like we are always bombarded with messages about how we should live a healthier life, but it really kicks up every January. That’s all good, but it can be overwhelming... especially because some of the advice or tips contradict other things we hear. So, our goal is simple: cut through the clutter and focus on what you can do now. Over the years, we’ve talked to many wonderful experts in different areas of health and wellness and discovered a running theme: small changes can lead to a big impact. We collected some nuggets on the topics of nutrition, exercise, and sleep and hope this will give you the answers and motivation you may need for a healthier, happier life.
The thing about small steps is that they are usually much less intimidating. In fact, many of the experts told us when changes were too big or goals too broad, we would be set up for failure. That doesn't mean we don't want to achieve big goals, only that we do it through as one of our guests, Patrick Tulio of Weight Down Life Up, put it "smaller, more obtainable goals." You'll hear his story of going from only being able to do 3 minutes on a treadmill to now doing full workouts and loving and looking forward to his time at the gym. He's lost over 100 pounds and gives us some very useful tips on exercise and eating. Nutritionist and plant-based diet expert, Diane Randall will help us set health as a priority and give us suggestions for small things we can do to make our diet more healthy. Nate Wilkins, founder of Ageless Workout gives us tips and tricks to get our mindset right and to tackle best practices. He especially addresses what to do as we get older since we may have a few more obstacles in our path to healthy living. Sleep expert and Founder of Equip Sleeping Co., Katelyn Anderson has some excellent ideas for those of us who have trouble falling or staying asleep. Finally, Life Coach/Weight Loss Coach, Elizabeth Sherman ties a ribbon on things talking about consistency and habits with "the motivational triad."
