“Is politics getting in the way of our faith?” is a question many Christians have been quietly asking recently. It seems to be finding its way into our churches, our friendships, our families...and sometimes even into the way we view one another as followers of Jesus.
In this thoughtful conversation, Sandy and Lanée welcome former pastor and attorney, William Barnwell to explore what happens when political identity begins competing with our identity in Christ. Together, they discuss the growing division we are experiencing, why disagreement has become so difficult, how churches can unintentionally create political litmus tests, and what it looks like to keep Jesus—not politics—at the center of our faith.
This isn't an episode about telling you which political party is right. It's an invitation to honestly examine our own hearts, our attitudes, and our priorities.

No matter where you find yourself politically, our prayer is that you'll walk away encouraged to love God more deeply, love your neighbor more intentionally, and remember that our greatest hope has never rested in any political movement, it rests in Christ alone.

Christians are always big on...that we don't take our cues from the world. We are in the world but not of it. But when it comes to politics, Christians by and large, are extremely worldly regardless of what type of church they're from. - William Barnwell
